he National Voters’ Day is celebrated every year to mark the foundation day of the Election Commission of India, which was established on 25th January, 1950. The purpose of celebrating this day is to increase enrolment of voters, especially young voters. The day is also utilized to spread awareness among voters regarding effective participation in the electoral process.
The Electoral and Literacy club of Department of International Studies and History, CHRIST (Deemed To be University) organised voters awareness day on 25th January 2019.The student volunteers and teachers spread awareness about the right to vote and also the importance of this right by showing videos and delivering special messages in each classes. The procedure to get enrolled in electoral roll online was explained to the students and the same has been circulated through email and social media.
Further, the Electoral and Literacy club under able guidance of the Department Director, Dr Fr Jose CC, has planned series of events like Handwriting Competition, Poster Making Competition, Debate Competition, Essay Writing Competition and Slogan Writing Competition.
